My flutes have been inspired by the wonderful Native American Flute, the Recorder, and Organ Pipe voicing. The standard voicing is clean and resonant. The flutes are tuned to play 16 notes in the chromatic scale. (See fingering charts). Also standard is a thumbhole on the bottom of the flute. This feature provides for four strong, clean notes above the octave without the need for overblowing. Rather than the usual "thin" sounding upper notes, these notes utilizing the thumbhole have the same full and rich tone as the other notes on the flute.

While my standard flutes work great for most people, I also believe that a flute should fit the player. Accordingly, designs for a flute can be varied to accomodate different requirements in tone, finger reach, offset holes, breath force, materials, finish, etc. I also have and can make flutes with other scales besides the typical minor and major scales. So, if you'd like something different, don't hesitate to ask. I do have some standard flutes in stock but custom flutes are also available, usually at the standard prices.
